There was spirited bidding for a unique copy of Q. David Bowers’ new book, Coins and Collectors: Golden Anniversary Edition, at the close of the 2014 Numismatic Bibliomania Society symposium.
What made the bidding reach the dizzying height of $1,500? This is the only advance copy of the book that currently exists outside of Whitman Publishing’s offices, autographed by the author and by Joel J. Orosz, who wrote a glowing tribute in the book’s foreword.
