Celebrate Ken Bressett and the Red Book at the 2018 Whitman Baltimore Coin and Collectibles Expo!

If you’re going to the Baltimore Spring Expo this week, make sure you stop by the Whitman Publishing booth. Giveaways and other celebrations are planned year-round at all three Expos (March, June, and October) in honor of longtime Red Book editor Kenneth Bressett.

Coin collectors have used the Red Book (the popular nickname of the Guide Book of United States Coins) to value their collections since the 1st edition was published in 1946. Ken Bressett has guided the publication through numerous revisions and improvements over the course of many years. His work has included annual updates of the book’s coin-by-coin pricing, compilation of official mintage data, and ongoing numismatic research.

Now, after nearly 60 years, Bressett is semi-retiring, taking on the role of Editor Emeritus for the Red Book, its wholesale-pricing companion the Blue Book (Handbook of United States Coins), and the 1,504-page deluxe-edition Mega Red.
