These “Silver Dollar Back” notes are so named for the five Morgan silver dollars seen on the ornate green printed back design, a single 1886 dated Morgan with the obverse facing up at center flanked on each side with two Morgans with the reverse facing up. The face of the note features the portrait of President Ulysses S. Grant to the right of center. Fr.263s feature a large brown spiked Treasury seal and the engraved signatures of Treasury officials Rosecrans and Huston.
